Stunned!
I received this book Dawn as a Christmas gift. After I finished reading it, I was stunned. I was stunned at how good the story is. I was stunned that I had never heard of it before. I was stunned that it has not yet been made into a movie. I have read the other reviews of this book and I agree with them about it. I think that the love expressed in this story is an example of "true love." The book has a "strangeness" to it that the author carries off beautifully. The story takes place in the future but it is an extremely real story that could be happening today. I just finished reading it and the events seem so real to me. I can imagine the characters living today at The Oaks. You know what? This would be a perfect story for one of those television movies. I know that this is a work of fiction but the way in which Byron Edwards wrote it makes me almost believe that the The Oaks is real. I love the way it ended. I won't give it away but I really didn't want it to end. I was enjoying being taken back or ahead to that time and place with the Habershams. You really do feel as if you are there and that you are interacting with the characters. I do recommend it highly and give it five stars.

Being there
The thing I really enjoyed about this story is that, as I read it, it seemed as if I were right there. I could visualize everything that was taking place. It was like "being there" in the story. This is one of those books that could easily be turned into a movie. As you read it, you can see it happening. I also like the theme of love that runs throughout this book. It's a good story and I have recommended it to my friends. I've got a Civil War fanatic friend who really enjoyed the Lost Gold of the Confederacy part of the story.

Can see it!
The concept for this book is totally different. It is almost a historical novel that takes place in the future. But what amazes me is that, as I read this book, I could see it in my mind. My friends and I do not understand why this novel has not received more national attention. It is a wonderful story and it is so easy to see it develop as you read it. This book has got to be made into a mini-series for television or a regular movie in theatres. I found the determination of love to be inspiring. This one is a 'keeper.' I will enjoy reading it again in about a year.

Surprised
This book surprised me. First, it surprised me that I was really into it before I realized it. This is a story that I think any female would enjoy. The romance in this story is subtle but strong. I absolutely adored the wedding. It made me cry. This book also surprised me because I have not heard anything about it. It has not been on Oprah or the talk shows. I have heard nothing about it being made into a movie. It definitely should be! It seems to be making the rounds by word-of-mouth only. This is not a bad thing but it surprises me that this book could be kept so low key for so long. Anyway, if you like romance and a somewhat unusual story (it takes place in the future), you will like this book. I love it! I have recommended it to several of my friends.

Should be a movie!
I have just completed reading this book and I cannot understand how it has not received more attention. I agree with the other reviewers that this story should be made into a movie. As you read Dawn, it is almost like you are there experiencing everything with the characters. It is so easy to see this story as a movie. It is hard to know why that has not already happened. This story quickly captures the reader's attention and never lets it go. If you have a sense of history, if you like romance, if you like mystery, if you like modern relationships, if you appreciate some 'quirkyness,' you will like Dawn. I do recommend Dawn. It is a somewhat 'off-center' novel but I understand that all of Byron Edwards' novels are that way. I have now ordered his current book, Lips.
