Books as Gifts
One aspect of books is that they make perfect gifts. Books can be given for any occasion or for no reason at all. But they make excellent Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, graduation gifts, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts, Valentine’s Day gifts, Easter gifts, St. Patrick Day gifts, Halloween gifts, any special family celebration — you get the idea.
One of the things I especially like about books as a gift is that they last. Most people cannot remember any of their graduation gifts (unless they got something unreal like a new car or a trip around the world). However, a good book, especially one that is personalized, is something that the graduate can keep all his life and remember that it came from “Uncle Ed” or sister, “Samantha.”
At this time, my new novel, Living in the Light, has been released. An author tour, with book signings, has not yet been arranged. If that does take place, I will be glad to autograph books. May I suggest, however, that you personalize the books you give as gifts with your own message. For example, "Merry Christmas to Rebekah. From Jake. 2023." A very special gift from you! (Living in the Light will make a wonderful gift anytime of the year!)
(This is something new that is now available for signed editions.)
The Oxford Comma is a bookshop in White House, Tennessee. People have asked for a personalized copy of Living in the Light. The ladies at The Oxford Comma have arranged with me to sell signed first edition copies of Living in the Light. If you want your copy personalized (makes a great gift) you may call them at 615-285-7061, email them at oxfordcommabooks@att.net or go by the store at 115 Highway 76 in White House, Tennessee. If you collect signed first editions, this is a way of adding to your collection -- no matter where you live. If you want the book personalized, just let the ladies know what name you want in the book and I will sign it for that person. There is no extra fee for this. They can then mail the book to you (there will be a postage charge).
